James Twine was born at Fort Hood, Texas. Lived in New Jersey as a kid, and moved to Cedar Park, Texas with his family in 1993. He is a graduate of Leander High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University, a Masters in Public Administration from Texas State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
He worked numerous occupations prior to becoming an attorney. He worked as a proofreader at the Texas State Senate Engrossing and Enrolling Office during a legislative session, as an underwriter for an insurance company, and a writer for a local business paper. However, his interest in law began when he got a job working as a clerk in the Williamson County District Clerk’s Office. He eventually moved to a position as an office specialist for Williamson County Court at Law #2. From there, he became a paralegal for the University of Texas at San Antonio. Before heading to law school, he was a legal assistant for a criminal defense attorney.
From James Twine:
“I have a true passion for criminal defense work. But that passion evolved into desire to provide assistance to people in financial crisis as well. I’ve spent all of my professional career as an attorney in areas of law where I thought I could be the most help to everyday people. When people ask me what type of business I’m in, I tell them I’m in the people business. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people on my journey, and I hope to continue serving the people in my community.”
